There is nothing worse than the feeling of being snackless– alone and adrift in the world without something smashed in the bottom of your bag that you can eat. When one is rushed and without time for real food, the best thing is a little bite of anything to tide you over, something to neutralize the panic. That is why you should never leave your room without grabbing an apple, a handful of almonds, an overpriced snack bar, a piece of dark chocolate or some dates. Or apricots. But never a banana.
